Greetings from Dr. Martha Grout!

I’d like to keep you up to date from time to time about issues and services.

In The News:
My sincere thanks to all of you who wrote letters, made phone calls, or signed petitions asking the Arizona State Legislature to renew the Arizona Board of Homeopathic Medicals Examiners. On Tuesday, November 6th, the Joint Health Committee voted to renew the Board for another two years. A patient-driven group called CHOICE gave the committee a 3-inch thick bound book of petitions. It contained approximately 7000 signatures from people like you asking the Legislature to keep the ABHME because it represents access to a wide variety of healthcare options.

In The Clinic:
We have a new associate and new services for the ever-widening range of health issues that come into the Arizona Center for Advanced Medicine.

Aaron MeansAaron Means MA, HMA – Classical Homeopath
Homeopathy is an approach to healing that is holistic, natural, without side-effects, and scientifically based. A wide variety of conditions ranging from the flu, wounds, sprains, common colds and migraines to more chronic conditions of depression, addictions, fibromyalgia and developmental and behavioral disorders can be treated successfully using homeopathy.

Other new services to assist you:

Preservative-free antigens
Dr. Stuart Lanson asked me to take care of his chemically sensitive and allergic patients upon his retirement. We have modified our offices to accommodate the equipment needed to make preservative-free antigens. This gives us the ability to conduct preservative-free testing for allergies, meaning we do not introduce extraneous chemicals into the body, thus we are not creating problems as we desensitize people. The antigens must be very carefully created from scratch in our office. The next closest place where chemically sensitive patients can receive this treatment is at the Environmental Health Center in Dallas, Texas.

Thermography
Thermography – measurement of heat signatures – is used for breast cancer screening and evaluation of chronic pain conditions. Mammograms for breast cancer screening use dangerous radiation and squish body parts. Ouch! Thermograms take an image of the heat signature of the body, reading the inflammation that is so characteristic of cancerous tissue. Thermography is an excellent screening tool not only for breast cancer, but also for painful inflammations.

And finally

Lisa Dugan, RN, has been working with those of you in the FirstLine Therapy program. She wants you all to know that she is holding informal group sessions about nutrition each Thursday during the lunch hour. Call and reserve a seat for yourself. And yes, you can bring a friend!

Here’s wishing you and your loved ones a warm holiday season. Rx = Slow down, don’t stress!
